HISTORY
It all started in the Netherlands, Alkmaar in 2018. A young man by the name of Son woke up and decided to finally do it, he had dreamed of it for a while, so he just did it that day.With a passion for fashion and a deep understanding of the struggles people face when dealing with emotions and mental issues, basically just people dealing with life, he wanted to create something new. So that day NUMB was founded.
"i had always struggled with emotions and stuff in my brain that i was trying to understand, my brain was never my enemy, it was simply somebody i didn't understand well enough to love yet" - Son
He wanted to create something that would give him some sort of feeling of extra strength, like a power up. because he realised it is absolutely okay to want or need help sometimes, and actually asking for and accepting the help is extremely empowering and healing, and why cant this help be in clothing form.
The vision was simple and direct yet powerful: to create a brand that would serve as a armor for those who need it the most. A brand that would empower people to feel their emotions fully, rather than numb themselves to them. To create a community of people that feel how they feel, and wear it how they seem fit, a collective safe space for us all to take emotional ownership in. it is the idea behind it that gives the simple piece of fabric the power to empower you. And so, the name "NUMB" was born, with the intention of being ironic - "i don't want people to be numb, i want them to feel everything fully and completely"
The founder poured his heart and soul into creating a brand that could rival more expensive labels. it has to be affordable and available to everyone.
NUMB wants to be more than just a brand - it's a symbol of empowerment and self-expression. The slogan "wear it how you seem fit" is a testament to that. We believe that fashion should not just be about looking good, but about feeling good too. We want people to feel confident in themselves, to embrace their emotions, and to take control of their lives.
NUMB's journey has been one of hard work and determination. From the early days of designing the brand's two logos - the letter logo for NUMB, and the water drop logo that symbolizes the fluidity of emotions . but also serves as a metaphor for anything liquid or fluid, it could be a drop of blood, sweat, tears, alcohol, coffee, you name it. What ever one might use to escape. and to the present day, where the brand is fairly established, we've always remained true to our vision.
